Maniakalani Film Festival

Last Wednesday I had a awesome time at Silvia park I presented my class film in front our school and my class mates .

I had to be at school by 8 am so I can be ready to go to Sylvia Park movie theatre . It was so exciting . I got to go in Mrs Langitupu car with my friends .

We were all  nervous and excited at the same time ,because for some of us we have never presented or talked in front of heaps of people before. 

Me and my friend Aye Myat were ready to present . We got on the stage and were nervous at first but we did it . We presented again through out the day and went back at night to present in front of our friends and family . When I got onto the stage my family started cheering for me it gave me confidence to present . I really enjoyed it and they also enjoyed seeing me present.

A cool thing about presenting was my Uncle Raenan also presented for Tamaki College so I got to present on the same stage as him and he sat with me for the rest of the show .

I hope when I have a new teacher I can do it again cause it was really cool fun and it helped me get more confident .

Our mountain climb

On Monday we had a day off for Labour day . So me and my Mum thought we could go on a walk . We went to Mt taylor mountain in Glen Dowie and thought we could have an adventure .
I have always wanted to climb this big mountain so i can do rolly pollies down the hill . Mum helped me through the gate and off we went . We climbed this big mountain and sometimes stopped to look down and see how high up we are . We were nearly to the top when i saw a black tower . We made it! So cool looking out and seeing the Water and all the boats and Buildings . We took a few pictures than i slid down the hill on my bottom . Mum told me to run down the hill and she would catch me . It was cool . I liked climbing the mountain with my Mum . We ended our climb by going to the park and playing on the swings . I can't wait to go back again .

Hendrix wins a trophy

On Friday, Hendrix was presented with two trophies at assembly for his outstanding play at rugby league.  Room 19 were super excited about this and we wrote about it when we got back to class.

Term Two 2015 Highlights

This term we had fun with basketball, a bouncy castle, a hovercraft and our inquiry topic focused on healthy lunch boxes.

My Friend

Hendrix is beginning independent writing.  To help scaffold this process, we use Explain Everything to record our ideas and then listen to our recording as we find the words.  Today, Hendrix wrote about his friend.

Room 19's Superstars

Room 19 were lucky enough to enjoy a Karaoke session on the hall stage, which was hosted by the prefects.

The whole class really enjoyed watching others perform, and some of us were lucky enough to have a turn!

Creating a story

Last week Hendrix worked in a small group of learners to locate words and create his own sentence.  Once he had completed it, he created this Digital Learning Object to showcase and share his learning using Explain Everything on his iPad.
